Letter from the Executive Director
Children are the most in need of the help that Legal Aid provides. New Mexico has one of the highest child poverty rates of any state in the nation.
Together, we can do something about that. Stabilizing families, getting them back on their feet after a calamity has set them back, is one of the most important things we can do to create a healthier and more secure society for today and the future.
It really comes down to the choices we make. Your support for Legal Aid at every level makes a difference – thank you.

New Mexico Legal Aid is funded in part by the Legal Services Corporation. As a condition of the funding it receives from LSC, it is restricted from engaging in certain activities in all of its legal work, including work supported by other funding sources. New Mexico Legal Aid may not expend any funds for any activity prohibited by the Legal Services Corporation Act, 42 U.S.C. § 2996 et seq. or by Public Law 104-134. Public Law 104-134 § 504(d) requires that notice of these restrictions be given to all funders of programs funded by the Legal Services Corporation.
